Golden Retrievers for the Greater Nashville Area

Happy, healthy dogs. Holistically Raised.

More About Us

We are Matt and Caitlyn, and for nearly 10 years, we’ve been dedicated to the business of holistic dog breeding, with a particular love for golden retrievers. Golden retrievers have been a part of our family for as long as we can remember, and our passion for these beautiful, loyal dogs drives everything we do. Caitlyn, a midwife by trade, brings her expertise in pregnancy and birth to our breeding practices, ensuring the health and well-being of our dogs from conception to delivery.

We use the term "holistic" to describe our breeding approach because we believe in a comprehensive commitment to the health, safety, and happiness of our animals. Every parent dog undergoes genetic testing, ensuring the best possible start for each puppy. We also ensure our dogs follow a nutritious diet and prioritize the mother’s health before and during pregnancy. To maintain the health of our dogs, we limit mothers to a maximum of two litters in their lifetime—providing the health benefits of pregnancy without overbreeding. We also ensure moms receive prenatal vitamins to support their health and that of their pups.

In our home, we’ve created a secure and nurturing environment for both moms and puppies, with carefully planned safety measures to give them the best start in life. Our puppies are socialized to the highest degree, thanks to the help of our three young children, ensuring they are well-adjusted and ready for their new families.

We take great pride in our ethical practices, ensuring that any dog we breed is never taken to a shelter. If an adoptive family can no longer care for their dog, we offer a lifelong commitment to take the dog back, ensuring their safety and well-being.

We are passionate about breeding healthy, happy dogs who bring joy to the families they join, and we are honored to have spent the last decade helping others experience the love of a well-bred, well-cared-for golden retriever.

Puppy Application

FAQs

  • Our adoption fee is $1450. This takes into account cost of healthcare to mom and puppies, first round of vaccinations, and creating a safe and developmentally stimulating enviroment. We collect a $350 non-refundable deposit to hold your place on our waiting list, and final payment is due upon pick-up.

  • At Nash Goldens all of our puppies receive their first round og vaccinations as well as a health check-up before going home to their future families.

  • We believe strongly in our health screening process and so we offer all of our adoptive families a 6 month health garauntee. This means if a congenital disorder is discovered within the first 6 months of life, we will accept the puppy back and issue a full refund. Additionally, Nash Goldens encourages all families to bring their dog back to us at any point in the dog’s life if for whatever reason the family cannot keep their dog. This is our commitment to ensuring none of our dogs end up in shelters.

  • After filling out our puppy application and being accepted onto our waitlist, we will keep you updated regarding our upcoming litters and your estimated wait. Once your prospective litter is born, the puppies must stay with their mother for 8 weeks. Pick of the litter will have their first choice of puppy, and they may wait until 5 weeks at the latest to make their selection. After this point, all others on the waitlist will have their opportunity to meet the puppies if they have not already done so and select TWO potential puppies. Based on your ranking within our waitlist we will do our best to ensure you are paired with one of the two picks you selected. Joining our waitlist earlier by completing a puppy application and paying the deposit will increase the chance that you will be paired with your first choice puppy.
